Set First Look

The set for 'The Happiest Days of Your Life' is coming together nicely and will be completed this week. Using only half the usual area of Victoria Square, this set has been designed to give the play and intimate feel and helps make chaotic scenes even more chaotic! The set has been built by Mr Matt Smyth with painting and designs by Year 12 student Casey Van Der Merwe. We are thrilled with how it has worked out and it is our simplest yet most effective set to date.

Happiest Days Happenings Week 3 Autumn Term

With five weeks to go, the cast and crew of the 2016 College Production 'The Happiest Days of Your Life' are beginning the feel the excitement and anticipation of performance week. The first few weeks back has seen some exciting developments.

SET
Mr Matt Smyth has worked tirelessly to complete the panels which will act as our backdrop this year and they look fantastic. Our Artistic Coordinator, Year 12 student Casey Van Der Merwe is now hard at work with a band of helpers, painting these panels to turn them into the staff common room of Hilary Hall.

PROPS AND COSTUMES
All cast members now have their costumes and a huge thanks for Miss Jackie Collender and Miss Edel Maher for their work in sourcing these and to Mrs Colleen Azzopardi for working on alterations. The last of the small props are now coming together and are making the whole set up look quite realistic which is very exciting.

ELLENBROOK ADVOCATE
As in previous years, the Ellenbrook Advocate will be running a feature on the production. Their photographer and reporter will be visiting HCC this week and the feature will run next Wednesday 18 May.

TICKETS
Tickets for the show will go on sale next Monday at 9am. Please see the post below for all the details.

PERFORMANCES
Happiest Days will be performed across four shows. We will be joined by the residents of Aegis Ellenbrook and some students from Swan Valley Anglican Community School for the Thursday matinee on th 16 June at 12:00pm. The remainder of the seats will be open to the community. We will then present three evening performances on Thursday 16, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 June at 6:30pm.

HAPPIEST DAYS GOES ON CAMP!

On Friday 29 April, the cast for the 2016 Holy Cross College Production of ‘The Happiest Days of Your Life’ departed for Swanleigh for our first ever production camp. The camp was designed as a weekend of intensive rehearsals, workshops, character building and teamwork activities. We were also lucky to have two guest artists, Krisha and Quaid visit on the Saturday to assist our students with characterisation and stage technique. Across the weekend, the students worked particularly hard, developing their character relationships and pushing themselves to memorise some tricky lines of dialogue. Rehearsals were broken up by some entertaining conversations at meal times, a movie night on the Friday and a quiz night on the Saturday. As we enter the final stretch before show week in Week 8, the Production Camp was a fantastic and fun learning experience which gave cast, crew and staff to really band together and work as a team. A huge thanks to the core team of Miss Jackie Collender, Miss Edel Maher and Miss Emma Robinson for their amazing work over the weekend. We now can’t wait to present ‘The Happiest Days of Your Life' to the College community next month.
